'Don't let your Customers and Suppliers There is a need for every business to have Terms and Conditions of Business. These should include Terms and Conditions of Sale, which will cover terms of payment and redress, as well as condition of sale of goods and services, with reference to the obligations of both the customer and the company. This helps to take the personality out of debt chasing and allows the company to pursue outstanding accounts from established customers with an arms length detachment, which the company can use the system as the basis of stricture. Leading on from this there should be a separate set of Terms and Conditions for Purchase from suppliers, both goods and services. This is important in the case of materials whose quality and fitness for purpose may have a damaging effect on profitability and customer loyalty for the company. It should be a tool to ensure the Company retains title to originated works, such as print plates and artwork, and is an important tool in the application of Intellectual Property Rights safeguards.
